Samar Kikig 2008



Samar Kikig - a .5 million guaranteed prize 5 stag derby event with 5 elimination series held in different venues through out Samar and culminating in a championship event in Calbayog City on November 22 -23 at the Ipao Sports Complex. Samar Kikig was a smashing success with 60 entries resulting in 107 fights. The event is the brianchild of DSS Doc Ian Pete Bandala of Northern Samar. The event was attended by Doc Jess Derije - Game Fowl Consultant of B-meg, ASM Jeoffrey Lindo, TSM Edwin Cimafranca, DSS Regil Gesultera - Aquatic Feeds, Meg Amore Sotto - Marketing Game Fowl, DSS Michael Manuta, DSS Roel Subere and ABS-CBN show anchor Boyet Cortez and crew of "Let's do Business". Samar Kikig is the pioneering B-meg initiated and promoted Derby. Kikig will now be held annually in the whole Region 8, and announcements have been made that next year B-meg Kikig will be a 1 million pesos guaranteed prize 8 stag derby.

Highlights of the night included the raffling off of the Lemon Sweater Trio, in which the winner jumped down from the bleacher and hit and broke the glass in the cockpit resulting in injuries to the winner of the trio, however the derby went on and eventually a solo champion was crowned.
